Latest Update: 19 March 2020, 2:50 pm

As previously advised, on Wednesday night I attended a meeting of the MWFA Board and Club Presidents to discuss the current COVID-19 situation.

Following this meeting, David Mason (MWFA CEO) distributed a letter to MWFA members and clubs. Of significant note is the proposal to re-start the MWFA competition on Friday 1 May 2020, subject to further direction from the Federal Government.

At the MWFRA we have, of course, already cancelled the Compulsory General Meeting and also any courses scheduled to occur prior to 14 April 2020.

Information, including this letter and a FAQ document prepared by the MWFA, on the escalating COVID-19 situation can now be found on our website.

I wish you all a safe and enjoyable weekend.

Kind regards

Update: 18 March 2020, 10:50 am

Compulsory General Meeting Cancelled/Football Activities Suspended Until 14 April 2020

The MWFRA regrets to advise the Compulsory General Meeting due to be held on Monday 23 March has now been cancelled. We have carefully considered advice from Government(s) and Football Federation Australia (FFA) and believe this is a sensible course of action to take.

Many of you will already be aware of FFA’s directive that sanctioned grassroots football competitions and associated training, as well as the NPL, is to be suspended until 14 April 2020. Subsequent to this, Manly Warringah Football Association announced their concurrence with the FFA directive. In Manly Warringah, the ban on all football activities includes: training sessions, pre-season matches, MWFA competition matches, FFA Cup matches, training sessions with external organisations, MWFA coach education courses and football club events.

The MWFRA recognises that many of our members will be disappointed by this news, however these decisions are being made in the best interest of all football community stakeholders.
