Registration for 2026

Existing members of Manly Warringah Football Referees Association are now able to register for 2026!

It is important that you carefully read through the instructions below to ensure that your registration is completed correctly.

This year, the Management Committee requests that you complete a compulsory Laws of the Game Quiz as part of the registration process.  Your registration will not be approved unless your quiz result is 80% or higher (16/20 questions).  The purpose of the quiz is to encourage your re-engagement with the Laws of the Game in the months leading up to the season and to make you aware of recent changes.  You may complete the quiz as many times as you wish to achieve the 80% threshold.  Your results will not be shared, however, the Management Committee will analyse members’ results to determine where future education and training efforts should be focused.

BEFORE you register, please read the below documents.  Football Australia has upgraded PlayFootball and along with a new system comes challenges. It is crucial to read these documents carefully to ensure a smooth registration process.

Accreditation
Referee accreditation lasts for 5 years from the year you completed a course. If you completed your course between 2021-2025 then your accreditation is still valid. If you completed the course in 2020, you will need to revalidate your accreditation if you have met the minimum requirements of 20 games over the last 5 years. If you are unsure, please contact Sigrid Mulherin at [email protected] before completing your registration. To revalidate your accreditation you must complete a FootballAustralia (FA) LOTG course on etrainu even if you have completed the minimum number of games. Please follow these instructions:

  1.  Requirements Before Access
    • PlayFootball Account: You must have a registered account.
    • Active Registration: You must be registered for the current season as a coach, manager, or referee with a club in PlayFootball.
    • Learner Registration: If you are not currently registered with a club but want to take a course, you must register as a “Learner” via the PlayFootball website (search for “Learner” to find a local “Learner club” in your state).
    • Wait Time: After registering, wait 3–6 hours for the system to sync with etrainu.
    2. Accessing the Learning Centre (etrainu)
    • Go to the Football Australia Learning Centre.
    • Click on the “If you are a learner – Click Here” button.
    • Login using your PlayFootball account details (email and password)
    3. Enrolling in Courses
    • Once logged in, navigate to the Training Library.
    • Select the course you wish to take – Referee License Revalidation
    • Complete the payment of $25.00

    4. Once you have completed the course please notify Sigrid Mulherin at [email protected] so your registration can be approved.

If you completed your course prior to 2019 and have not revalidated your accreditation, you will need to undertake the Junior Football Match Official Course (previously known as Level 4).. Please see our website for upcoming courses.

ActiveKids Voucher
The MWFRA no longer accepts accepts Active Kids Vouchers

Working with Children Check
Referees 18 years and over must have an Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) before registration can be approved. This is FNSW policy. To obtain a WWCC, apply on-line at ServiceNSW for an Employee WWCC (ie not a volunteer WWCC). Download the application and visit a ServiceNSW outlet to provide proof of ID and pay the $80 fee. The WWCC lasts for 5 years. Referees without a valid WWCC will not be approved to referee in 2024. If you turn 18 during the season, you must obtain your WWCC as soon as you turn 18.

Please note: Team Referees do not require a WWCC.

ID Photos
All referees must provide a current passport-style ID photograph. The photograph should be of head and shoulders only, looking directly at the camera, with no hats or glasses and preferably have a plain background. Registration will not be approved until an appropriate photo has been uploaded.
